"If I Only Had a Heart" Trimester 1

"If I Only Had a Heart"  Trimester 1

When a person is sick and needs a new organ, it can take a long time to get one.  People have to be put on a special transplant list and may have to wait months or even years before they receive a new organ.  However, waiting for someone else to donate their organ could soon be a thing of the past.  Scientists are experimenting with bioprinters, printers that use human cells and tissue instead of ink, to print 3-D printed organs!  While this may seem like a great idea, some people are afraid of what could happen if 3-D printed organs become a reality.

Pete Basiliere, research director at Gartner says: "These initiatives are well-intentioned, but raise a number of questions that remain unanswered. What happens when complex 'enhanced' organs involving nonhuman cells are made? Who will control the ability to produce them? Who will ensure the quality of the resulting organs?"

I think online school is a bad idea. Online school is bad idea because you don’t have a social life with other kids. You don’t have a teacher right in front of you to help you if you can’t explain it on a message they can’t help you in person because you are doing an online school. You also have NO snow days so you don’t have any days of from school for a little break. This is why I think online school is a bad idea!

I think that 3d printed organs are a good idea. First off, Oh NO! You lose your Gallbladder. Never fear, 3D printing is here!! One thing I think to be kept in would to make sure the government knows about every single organ print. I think that because someone could make a black market of them. Also you shouldn’t be able to download organ models to print using things like THINGIVERSE. But other than that these organs can save lives, so I think it is a good idea.

I think 3-D printed organs are a good idea. I think 3-D printed organs are a good idea because it could save peoples lives. If someone has a bad organ let’s say a heart, someone can just print a new heart. It could save many lives! If it does save lives, armys can use it to help save soldiers lives! It could also be useful at a retirement home, if someone is sick there! That’s why I think 3-D printed organs could be a good idea!!!

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because if someone needed a liver they could just go to the hospital and they could 3-D print a new liver. With of course the correct materials. But we would need to be careful no one will say we can’t do that because we don’t like you or because that person that has the material asks for one thousand dollars for just a portion of a liver or kidney. But another good reason is if someone needed a liver fast like in 2 days they could quickly 3-D print one instead of waiting for a donation. Also some kidneys and livers are not able to work for a certain person when they are donated but when they are specially 3-D printed they can fit you so they will work in your unique body type. That is why I think 3-D printing organisms is a good idea.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because it will allow people to get there organs fast. Also, I think 3-D organs are good because you would be able to match it to you better than just getting a transplant. Next, if use a 3-D printed organ you can have it fit better. Also, with 3-D printed organs they could become better and save more lives than regular organs. Next, 3-D organs may be safer to put into someone. That is why I think 3-D organs are a good idea.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea. They are a good idea because the people that need an organ won’t have to wait for an organ. Another reason why they are good is if an organ is available it might not even be the kind they need. Also if you start 3-D printing them you won’t ever run out or have a shortage of them. It is also good because doctors won’t have to perform as many surgeries on people. That is why 3-D printing organs is a good idea.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. As long as people are careful, they could create working replicas of human organs, after many tests are run. Three-dimensional printed organs could be a huge evolution of technology, but if technology keeps evolving, it might or might not be a good thing. 3-D printed organs could malfunction, but as long as they are tested to be working properly, they could change the world for the better. For example, if someone’s stomach isn’t working, their life could be saved by a 3-D printed organ. Also, if a person has a serious abrasion, extra skin could be printed for them. 3-D printing organs is a wonderful idea, but it should not be used regularly until it is perfected.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because humans don’t have to give up their organs for other humans. It is also a good idea because doctors and researchers don’t have to wait months or even years for their organs to be made. 3-D printed organ is also a good idea because doctors won’t have to do a lot of surgery on patients. I also think it is a good idea because you don’t have to pay as much. You don’t have to pay as much as it takes for doctors to make organs. That is what I think about 3-D printed organs.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because it could save someone’s life if they need the organ really bad. Also another reason I think it is a good idea is it might not take that long if it was a real organ. Also you won’t have to wait in the long list of organ transplants. Another reason why it is a good idea is that 3-D organs might function more better than real organs. Next reason is that it might help doctors so they don’t have to give bad news to family members. That is why I think 3-D printed organs are a good idea.

I think 3-D printing organs is a bad idea because it can cause problems. When it prints it can do something wrong and the organ might not work. The printer can stop working or you lose power and it can’t finish it till next week and the person needs it now. When the person is hurting and need the organ now and it stopped that can be bad. When the person is in trouble and in desperate need of an organ right away, they could pass away. It can cost so much and it might not work. That is why I think 3-D printing is a bad idea.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because if somebody is very sick and the need a new organ they don’t need to wait as long. Also if someone is in the Army and they need a new organ it can get to them faster. Another thing is that in the army they deal with chemicals so they test the 3d printed organ to these chemical. Also it gets to the person in need faster than a donated organ. It is also cheaper to get it shipped to the person. Those are some reasons that I think 3d printed organs are a good idea.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. 3-D printed organs are a bad idea because you will not know if the organs will work or not. You don’t want to chance it. Also, because what if you get the blood cells wrong. Then you are putting your patient in more pain because now they have different blood. Another reason why making 3d printed organs is a bad idea is because you will have to wait for the organ to be done. But the person In need of the organ might have a period of time before they pass. So it has to be quick. That’s why 3-D printed organs are a bad idea.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because if a soider need an organ because someone got hurt you can save their life. Also because if someone really need an organ. If they did not get one then they will die so you can just printe one. So someone does not have to give one of their organ to the person that needs it. Also we can make skin from it. So if someone needed skin we can printe it. That is why I think 3-D printed organs is a good idea.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because many people in the world have heart disease and organ problems. If this dose become a real thing that would be great for those people. And now since we do have 3-D printers we should take advantage of its possibilities. When it does (if it does) I think we all should consider it for those in need of them. For example my friends brother has a heart problem and must have surgery every year. Now if this does become a thing it can stop that!

I think 3-d printing organs is a bad idea because these organs are bot already created in a human body. These organs are being made by a machine would you trust that? How would you feel if you knew that your organs wee going to be made or already made through or created by a machine. These organs that are going in your body have more of a chance of failure than the one you needed taken out. I would not trust a machine to make my organs I have to live with. Ask your self would you feel comfortable. THAT IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS TOPIC.

AvaFJ2 said...

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because if you have a problem with an organ or heart then you have the option to get a completely new one from the 3-D printer. Although it may not work, you will never know if you don’t try. This could give you the possibility to get better sooner. If you lose an organ than this is a great way to try and get a new one. People may say that it won’t work, but you can predicted that. You can’t say that this won’t work if you don’t try. If you don’t put in an organ or any other part in your body than you could be very sick. I understand that it is putting a lot of bad chemicals into your body but if this ends up working then it is successful and you can live a normal life again!

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. 3-D printed organs are a bad idea because what if the organs fail. Also if the organ is not the right size. What if the organs take longer than expected and the patient dies. Also what if doctors can’t make a size that is needed. What if people don’t have enough money, if you’re going to do it make it cheap. That is why I think it is a bad idea to print organ.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because we can make more people happy don’t have to wait a year. Instead you can wait 24 hours. You can make more people happy. You can replace old organs with new ones. You can live longer an dream on. You can have fun with your friends and family.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. 3-D printed organs are a bad idea because if you put the origins in somebody it may go wrong if something doesn’t work out in the making presses. If you can’t afford the surgery you cant save your life. If the 3-d printer gives out during the making, then the person will die. What if the printer takes to long on the making of the origin and when it’s done it’s to late. What if someone has a 3-d printer and tries to print the origin at home and they try to do the surgery themselves and fail. What if the origin melts in the stomach acid, what do you do. What if the army wants to use it as a whepon and it blow up in their hand while they make it.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. 3-D printed organs are a bad idea because you don’t know that the organ is going to work when it comes out of the printer. Also, because you don’t know if it is going to last forever. Another is what if the printer stops working while making the organ, the person might need right at that moment. What if you are in the army and there is a bomb with a chemical that does something to the organ, like a chemical reaction. Another reason it’s a bad idea is if someone tries to make it themselves and they end up not doing it right. Lastly, is if you don’t have enough money to have somebody print it for you.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. 3-D printed organs are a bad idea because nobody noes what is going to happen to you in the future you could die in the next 5 years. 3-D printing means sooner or later they are going to be making kids on a 3-D bio printing. If someone gives someone else there organ they are going to be giving different blood to someone else. They don’t know what is going to happen to you if you like donate your heart you could die in like 1 second. I think that this is going to be a very bad idea. The only reason this is bad idea because you don’t know what could happen.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea because nobody knows who will check to see if it works. We wouldn’t know what to make it out of. I think creating 3-D organs is not a safe idea .

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. 3-D printed organs are a bad idea because would you really trust a computer to print organs in your body? I wouldn’t. Truly I think that would be a great thing if you were dying and you would take that 40% chance of living, but if they were created who would stop anyone. You could in the year 3000 possibly have your own 3-d organ printer. Then you could possibly print minions to take over the world. Honestly, how would that feel like to have someone in your family zapped sliced or diced killed in front of your own eyes these evolution s may lead you your new ancestors to be killed think about that. The organs may leak or fall apart how the 3-D printer save you can know you would be dead. I think that printing 3-D organs is a bad idea. What do you think?

I think 3-D printing of organs and other vital tissues, is a good idea. People that are born without a heart or half of another tissue or body part, 3-D printing can be a miracle for them. If you need a transplant, it can take a long time to find a donor. Even after all that searching, you need to make sure the organ can work with the body. If you print off organs you can have the correct organ in a matter of hours. This can help the soldiers who have lost a limb or have an injured organ. In other countries who have trouble with poverty, war, hunger, or any other cases, they can print off tissues for loved ones. They just need a doctor to implant, no cost for the organ, except to buy more tissue, which could be cheaper in that country since you need to make the organism yourself. This new technology can lead to stopping other diseases. This could help many people.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. 3-D printed organs are a bad idea because... the people how made the origin could be sick and get germs on the origin and you get sick. They could also print a mistake. Also it could be too big or small. Another reason is that it could break and the piece could rupture something. It could also have a chemical on it and you could get sick. Lastly it might not help at all or it might not work.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. 3-D printed organs are a bad idea because everything in this generation is a robot, and now humans are becoming machines too. Also, what if something goes wrong in the organs, and 100,000,000 people have these organs in their bodies? What if the organs create a disease in people’s bodies? Doctors might think the organs are helping to keep citizens alive but it could be hurting people inside. Where would all the material the organs are made out of come from? The same thing with oil. We use so much of it were running out, and if we make too many organs we could run out of material to make them, so I think we’re better off the way we are now.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. 3-D printed organs are a bad idea because I wouldn’t trust a 3-D printer to install fake organs in my body. Would you trust a 3-D printer? I think it would be a good idea to let it print organs for you only when there is only a 35% chance you will surviving. But hey it’s your decision not mine. Another reason why I wouldn’t let a 3-D printer print organs is that you don’t know what has been printed before they print organs for you. Also you don’t know if they will last forever. At least I don’t know. That’s why I am not comfortable with a 3-D printer printing organs that are going to be in my body, and I don’t think it’s a good idea!

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a bad idea. 3-D printed organs are a bad idea because if humans were supposed to regrow or make new livers, kidneys, organs then we would. 3-D printing a vital organ to make someone live would be deciding who lives and who dies. There are obviously a limited supply of bio printers in the world and more dying people for example. If someone is dying of a heart issue and someone else is dying of a heart issue and there is only one printer to print a heart before they die then one will live and one will die one family will celebrate and the other will have a funeral.

I also think it is a good idea because you can have a new organ. Maybe it does work and you’re living till you’re a hundred and five or older. It might never quit on you and your fine. Also can the people who needed a heart transplant and who was suffering.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because if some people have a bad organ or two and need it replaced they can use a 3D printed organ so if the doctors don’t have an organ that is right for the person then instead of a real one. Another reason it is a good idea is the person does not need to worry about heart attacks that much because the heart is kind of works like a real heart but a little different. My second reason why it is a good idea because if you got the wrong organ they would have DIED if they didn’t choose the 3-D printer heart.

I think that 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because if someone is going to die in 5 or 6 months and no one is donating an organ that person might die. So with the 3-D printer organs it only might take them a months or less to get the organ made. Also for people in the military that have some parts missing because of fighting in some wars. The soldiers can have the body parts that they then right away. Also people that have cancer the doctors can take out the part that is bad and the 3-D printer organs can print the organ that is need. Also if a person is born with something missing the 3-D printer organs can print the part that is missing and save that person’s life instead of living that person to die in those couple of hours that they have.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because it can be hard to find a person is willing to donate and this can probably take a day or two. One other good reason is if no one is able to donate an organ nobody has to. The only down side is these organs are probably expensive. That’s what I think about 3-D printed organs.

I think creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea. 3-D printed organs are a good idea because if you ever needed an organ right away this would print one for you in a few days or less. But if someone were to donate a kidney or something like that it would take a while possibly up to a year to find someone who would be willing to donate a kidney or organ. Also, it would be less difficult for the doctors to have to have to wait only a few days. Plus the doctors would be getting there job done and helping their patient a lot faster. Lastly, there is 95% chance the job and surgery will be successful. This is why I think that creating 3-D printed organs is a good idea
