Halloween should not be banned. I say this because kids love to go trick or treating, even if they meet strangers, it’s a chance to make friends! Halloween is a holiday for kids to dress up, have fun, socialize with friends, and get candy. Back then, people would play games and get to socialize with family and friends. I say that if Halloween is banned, kids and family would not be able to get together with family and friends and have fun. This is why Halloween should not be banned.

Halloween should not be banned. It’s a time where even adults can dress up and have fun. It’s not only for children. Halloween has been around for over a century and has developed many traditions over that time. Halloween is a time to be a little bit scared. If that’s not something you like then that is your OPINION and it shouldn’t be banned for that small disagreement.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. “Some people think outlawing Halloween is a rash decision,” (The Daily Times). There are many enjoyable traditions of Halloween such as dressing up and getting candy. Also, many parents and children love going to Halloween parties, or Halloween parades. When kids go from door to door to get candy they meet the people who live around them. Lastly, Halloween is a tradition that has been around for hundreds of years, and it shouldn’t be lost.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. In my years of Halloween fun, I have never come across anything potentially harmful to myself or my friends. Many kids rely on Halloween to have fun with their friends and get candy for the upcoming year that their parents would not want to get for them otherwise. If people want to spend their money on sweets for young children, they should be able to do so because it is their money. According to the NY Times, Halloween traditions date back hundreds of years to pagan times. Halloween should not be banned because it is important to many families.

Halloween should stay because it is a good holiday to celebrate every year. Also because kids can dress up and be what they want to be to express their emotions, feelings, and what they think about them self’s. Halloween is also about kids hanging around with their best friends and seeing kids have fun and seeing their family. To some kids celebrating Halloween means a lot to them they throw parties and decorate. So I think there should be no age range from 5- 11 to trick or treat, or a curfews. So in my favor Halloween should stay for several more years.

A lot of people want to ban Halloween because they think it is dangerous and is a bad holiday. They say that it is dangerous because kids are running in front of cars and getting candy from strangers. They should not banned Halloween though. A lot of kids love this holiday they get to dress up as their favorite charter or their favorite person. This is also a big holiday for a lot of people some people see people they haven’t seen in a while or have a big Halloween dinner. Halloween should not be banned if you don’t like it then don’t celebrate it

Halloween should not be banned, I think it should stay. I think it should stay because it’s been around for hundreds of years and it is a tradition. Some people want to make it go away because they think it is dangerous. If they think it is dangerous then to stay safe the stores could sell safe costumes and candy. The people think it’s not safe because the kids are getting candy from strangers but the people that give them candy obviously got because they love children and trick or treaters. Halloween is about kids getting candy and having a good time, people that like Halloween loves to see their kids in their costumes and being happy. Some parents don’t like their children eating candy because they can get cavities but they can just brush their teeth it’s not a big deal. That is why I think we should keep Halloween.

Halloween should not be banned. So many people think that Halloween is a bad holiday for kids. So many kids enjoy Halloween because so many kids have fun with their friends by dressing up and expressing themselves by their own style of costume. There are some many ways you can stay safe on Halloween night and have fun. Some say candy is very expensive just to give away to little kids but that’s the whole reason of Halloween to little kids they don’t know all the traditions the Halloween came from. To me, Halloween should not be banned because there are so many ways to stay safe on Halloween. Some people throw parties and have fun when they are adults too so I do not think Halloween should be banned.

Halloween shouldn’t be banned.
Many people think about how it is annoying that others come and go to their houses expecting candy while you don’t even care about the holiday. While people think about that, no one is thinking about the children. The children have so much fun going from house to house dressed up in their favorite monster or super hero. The children make memories that they will remember the rest of their lives. If you were to see the smile on those children’s faces, then you would know it wouldn’t be right to ban Halloween.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. This holiday is enjoyed and celebrated by many people. Halloween is a time for children and adults to have fun and carry out traditions. By participating in Halloween kids can not only learn about practices from long ago but have fun and hang out with their friends. If people are worried about their children staying safe they can accompany their children while they’re trick- or- treating. Also parents should check their children’s candy to make sure it’s safe to eat. If parents are cautious and help both them and their children stay safe, then Halloween should not be a problem.

EthanFA1 said...

Halloween shouldn’t be banned. I think it shouldn’t be banned because some families might celebrate it as a tradition. If Halloween gets banned kids won’t be able to know what their families did for centuries and centuries. Kids won’t know what trick or treating is. They won’t know what’s it’s like to dress up in a costume. I think Halloween should stay.

MarySA1B1 said...

Halloween should not be banned. A lot of people have fun on Halloween because of the way they act. If people and children act safe and respectful to the others around them, Halloween would be fun for everyone. My nephews and nieces would love to be a part of Halloween. They are still toddlers and babies, but they love dressing up in their costumes and going door to door and getting candy. Lots of children have fun during Halloween and they dress up, put make up on, get candy, and get to spend time with family and friends.

IsabelleMa1b1 said...

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. This tradition is has been continuing for centuries, and many kids (especially teenagers) take part and go Trick-Or-Treating too. Even know it’s fun, going from house to house getting free candy, but many parents disapprove of this Halloween Tradition. “Halloween is dangerous”, declares one New York legislator, “Kids are out there getting candy from strangers!” A lot of parents let their kids go with their friends. Children should be supervised throughout the night of Halloween. “On top of that,” he went to say, “candy is very expensive. No one wants to buy it and just give it out.” Kids just walk with their friends and collect candy and don’t even know where it has been. I somewhat disapprove of this Holiday in some cases. This is why Halloween is not dangerous and should be outlawed.

RileyBA1B1 said...

Halloween should not be banned according to one of New York legislator’s opinions. It should be based on facts, such as how does he know how people react on Halloween. “Kids are out there getting candy from strangers!”(The Daily Times) in the article it stated. How does he know that the people are strangers that are giving out candy? My family has had very good experiences with Halloween in my neighborhood and nothing has happened. My family has a tradition that was stared six years ago, where the father take the child out trick or treating and the mother answers the door. Not only my family but other families had stared traditions that have lasted ten, fifty and maybe even one hundred years. That happens because Halloween has been around since Pagan times and many people want to keep that going.

BillyCA1 said...

Halloween shouldn’t be banned, but people should take some extra precautions when taking children or family out for trick or treating. Some religions can be offended by the occasion, finding some costumes or celebrations to be offensive to their culture or beliefs. Drivers can also be a problem on Halloween. They should be extra careful on Halloween night. They should drive slowly with the headlights on and always be on the lookout for pedestrians such as children or parents/ guardians. Always check the candy before you eat it. Look for tears, pin holes, or other signs that there may be a foreign contaminant or object in the candy. Children always enjoy dressing up and not letting them dress up and have fun could cause them to be moody or grumpy as they do not get to show their own opinions. Halloween can be a fun and playful night if you let it be.

DeanBI1 said...

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed sense so many kids look forward to this holiday for treats and joy! One reason I think it is a bad idea to ban Halloween is that in some countries like Ireland and England celebrate this holiday due to religious beliefs. New York Legislator says that “Halloween is Dangerous! Kids are getting candy from strangers!” One Halloween is not dangerous it is only dangerous if you make it dangerous. Number two is that most parents know what neighborhoods there are going in. This is my opinion of why Halloween should not be ban.

BobbySi1j1 said...

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. The holiday is celebrated by thousands of kids every year, and for years everything was fine and no one complained so why complain now. People say it’s an annoying tradition that has no purpose. This is not true what about the people that celebrate Halloween did they think those people who believe. They say the Candy is expensive, well if it’s expensive just buy something else to give out or don’t give anything out at all. Than some people say that kids have enough from there video games and electronic devices. What about the kids that don’t have any of that stuff then what do they do? Halloween has been around for hundreds of years it’s a tradition. If you don’t want to celebrate, just leave a sign in your yard saying not to come trick or treating.

kierstenfI1J1 said...

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be out lawed. It should not because kids can have fun going trick or treating and get like a costume of someone like their favorite character from like a TV show or a cartoon character. The children can show of their costumes and get candy from people to last them months. Their family can see them in their little cute costumes, so everyone else see there nice costumes. Who cares if u spend money on Halloween you get to have fun with your kids and u can make you house look scary for little kids but not too scary that a kid starts to cry. When your kids are done trick-or-treating check the candy for poison candy.

JonathonDI1J1 said...

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. The holiday is very dangerous when it comes to health care. Kids are going door to door asking strangers for candy and in order to be safe they have to go home and sort through it. Some people might poison the food or put pieces of metal in it. Also candy may taste good but is very bad for you, it can cause obesity, cavities, and bad nutrition. Halloween is a bad holiday and should be outlawed.

JordynMI2J2 said...

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. While it can be dangerous, if you have common sense and knowledge if basic safety tips, you should be okay. A New York legislator states that children don’t watch out for cars. Their parents should be holding their hands, and if they are alone, it is the parent’s fault. The legislator also comments that the costumes are offensive. People originally used to dress up in costumes to ward of ghosts and other monsters; nothing has changed much. “’On top of that’ he went to say, ‘candy is very expensive”’. Candy is not overpriced; you can get assorted candies for very little money. He also said that Halloween is a bothersome holiday. I can understand that, considering all of the rowdy and rebellious teenagers that pull pranks every year, whether it is TP’ing or egging houses. However, seeing the big goofy grin on children’s faces makes it all worth it. Others also believe that it is wrong to celebrate the devil (Satan)’s birthday.

Aidanm said...

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be banned. Well you may get candy from strangers you should inspect your candy at home just to make sure it is safe. Plus Halloween lets kids get candy and have fun and dress up like a favorite gull or fairytale character. Also you can spend time with friends, if you go trick or treating with friends. It could be a tradition for some families to go trick or treating. Surly Halloween should not get banned.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed! Halloween is a time where everyone can dress up and have fun, from the oldest adult to the youngest baby. Lately people have been discussing if Halloween should banned or not. They think that kids are dressing up as zombies and scaring too many people, but what about the people who like to be scared and enjoy Halloween. Halloween is the one night a year that anyone can dress up and not be made fun of. Also there are so many Halloween traditions that will be missed. Like carving pumpkins and going on haunted hayrides! Thos is why halloween should'nt be banned!

SarahFA2B2 said...

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. I believe that Halloween is a day where kids and even adults can express themselves through costumes and/or props. Halloween shows how fun it is to pretend to be someone you’re not for a little while. Kids can go alone or with friends and still have a great time. I do not, however, agree with the decision to prank other people, as that could be illegal. If parents can be responsible with their children and kids can make good decisions, Halloween should not be banned.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be banned. I say this because this is a tradition that has been passed down many generations and I believe that we should keep it alive. If we work together, then I truly think that we can make it a safe and happy Halloween. Also, if the holiday of Halloween is against some people’s religion, then they do not have to celebrate it. They have their own religion, and other people have theirs. That doesn’t mean that just because they don’t approve of Halloween, other people aren’t allowed to celebrate it. I think the people that love Halloween should be allowed to honor it.

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. Halloween is dangerous for many reasons. For one, children are going to strangers homes and getting candy. One of the most used saying that kidnappers use to abduct children is “Hey! Want some candy?” Halloween makes kids think that it is okay to take candy from strangers. And what if someone who is giving the innocent tricker-treaters candy invites them inside to pick what they want? They kids are not going to object, and someone could absolutely kidnap them and no one would know. Halloween is a dangerous holiday. There are too many hazards to keep it as a holiday.

KaiyaLA2 said...

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. We all remember the fun of getting dressed up and going trick-or-treating but some think that Halloween is dangerous. It’s not, Halloween is fun and there are ways that you can make Halloween safer if you are un-easy such as: checking candy before eating, wear reflecting tape, and make sure everything is good if your child has allergies. Halloween should not be ban because children will create memories and hopefully they will enjoy and cherish that fact that they were able to go out and have a fun Halloween. Now parents may think that Halloween should be banished but, if you are safe and stay with your kids then you should have a fun safe and fun Halloween.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Halloween should not be outlawed because it is a time for kids to express themselves. It is also a time where kids can go out and get candy from the neighbors or any other neighborhood. Halloween is fun holiday for kids.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Halloween is a fun holiday and should not be outlawed because it is a knight to be free and reduce stress. Dressing up and pretending to be someone else is great fun and a big tradition. Not every kid eats all of their Halloween candy in one knight. I know there is an obesity problem with the candy but people won’t get obese from just one night of candy. Also it should be up to the parents to make sure their children are being healthy. Halloween should not be outlawed because of these reasons. Some religious leaders say that the costumes are offensive but there shouldn’t be anything to offend about. Also all of the big Halloween costume companies will go out of business and it will bring the economy down and lose jobs. Don’t ban Halloween for children and for the economy

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Halloween should not be outlawed because it is a holiday and it has been going on for many years and should not be getting thought about like this now. Some people are saying bad things about the holiday. Such as “kids are getting candy from strangers!”(The Daily Times).People also say the holiday is unsafe, but many kids do watch for cars and stay with their parents. I think it is a good idea for kids 5-11 to be with parents because they are safe from anything that may happen. The New York Legislator says “Furthermore costumes are often offensive. Dressing up like zombies and creatures they scare people out of their wits!”(The New York Times). I believe that Halloween should not be outlawed or banned because kids love the holiday.

`Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. “Kids don’t watch out for cars , they dart out in front of cars and run high risk of getting hit.,” (The Daily Times).Kids don’t pay attention to there environment and are at high risk of getting injured. “…their costumes are often expensive. Dressing up like zombies and creatures! They scare people out of their wits!,” (The Daily Times). Parents spend a hundred dollars or more on costumes that are high quality and expensive costumes, if well enough dresses can scare people and if series enough might injure their health. “Candy is very expensive.,” (The Daily Times). Kids don’t know this but all the treats and costumes are expensive and are not cheat. Halloween is expensive and even though is a old holiday should be banned.

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. On Halloween, kids are running back and forth on the street. This is a large hazard. Kids could easily get hit by oncoming cars with drivers that are not paying attention. “Kids don’t watch out for cars…,” (The Daily Times). Also, eating a lot of candy can obviously lead to cavities, bad nutrition, and obesity. Another problem is kidnapping and poisoning. Any kid who looks small enough to capture is a great target for kidnappers. Added to that, candy could be poisoned.

AlfredBA1B1 said...

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Halloween is a tradition that has been around for hundreds of years. Halloween has many traditions and customs that go along with it. In olden days people would hang sticks to the ceiling by a rope in the center of the stick and then put a lit candle on one end and an apple on the other. Then someone would lightly spin the stick and the others would attempt to bite of the apple while avoiding the candle. While some say that accepting candy from others is dangerous because they may have poisoned or tampered with the candy. This danger can be prevented by checking all suspicious. People also say that Halloween is dangerous because kids can be hit by cars while crossing streets, but if the child uses common sense, they will look both ways for oncoming headlights. Some also say that authorities are only making these ridiculous claims to distract from other issues like corrupt politicians and harder school subjects.

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. It should be because it is very dangerous and kids go to random stranger’s houses and get candy from them and they don’t even know where it came from. They also lose all safety on the streets because they don’t look both ways and could easily get hit by cars and injured. “…Halloween comes with cavities, obesity, bad nutrients, vandalism, bullying, dangerous costumes and masks, and the fact that most people don’t even know where it originated form. This is why I think Halloween should be outlawed.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Halloween has been around for a long time and has many traditions. Everyone is saying Halloween is a dangerous holiday but if kids follow the rules they would be safe and everyone would have a fun time. Dressing up for Halloween and decorating houses or yards is just another thing that makes it better. Some towns have taken matters into their own hands and have already banned people from decorating there yard and only allowing kids from the ages 5-11 to trick or treat. Halloween is a holiday where kids can have some fun and express them self’s and be who they want… don’t take that away.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed because it is a time were kids can be kids and get a treat. Some kids don’t get candy and Halloween is a holiday where kids can dress up and get candy some kids cant even get candy but when Halloween comes they can get some and kids don’t have to dress up all they have to do is wear all black and call themselves a ninja or something like that. People should watch out for kids because some kids are young and don’t understand how to not run in the streets but people should watch out because they should know that Halloween is the only holiday where kids walk around on or off the streets so its not the kids fault it’s the people in the cars fault.

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. This holiday should be outlawed because it is very dangerous. First of all, the candy is very unhealthy for kids to be constantly eating from Halloween on to many weeks after this holiday. Also, kids don’t watch out for cars and wear dark costumes so no one can see them. Some kids could get hit by cars and get very injured if they aren’t careful. Many costumes that kids are wearing these days, “…are often offensive,” (The Daily Times). Halloween might be fun for kids, but it’s a very unsafe holiday overall.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Halloween is a fun night for kids and should not be outlawed, as long as precautions are made. Kids should be accompanied by an adult to prevent accidents from happening, and stay away from busy roads. Candy might not be the best solution when it comes to receiving things from their neighbors. Candy has been known to cause cavities, or other negative results. Costumes might have to limitations to not be offensive to others. Kids should be able to enjoy this holiday as long as they are aware of the dangers and take precautions. Instead of candy, maybe neighbors can find better food to give children. Lastly, kids should not wear offensive costumes. This holiday is worth having, as long as a few adjustments and precautions are made.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed! I believe this because Halloween is really only the time of year where kids can pretend to be there favorite TV, storybook, or movie character and go Trick-or-Treating. Although many people complain about there not being enough safety precautions for smaller kids, I say every year when I go out for Halloween, I see kids with glow sticks, glow in the dark stickers, and reflective materials on their costumes. So I believe that Halloween should not be banned. It is a fun holiday that almost everyone enjoys.

Halloween should not be banned and is not dangerous. It should not be banned because it gives children and adults a chance to have fun, and show their creativity through their costumes. Kids also get a chance to go with some friends and get candy. Halloween is an ancient tradition that has been celebrated for over 200 years. It would be quite strange to just end it now. If someone doesn’t like Halloween, then they don’t have to participate.

Even though many people think that Halloween should be banned or outlawed because it is dangerous. Halloween isn’t dangerous at all, as long as stay safe. Halloween is massively celebrated and enjoyed around the world, and if it was to be banned, many people wouldn’t enjoy that. “Candy is very expensive…” (Daily Times). Candy is not expensive, and you could go to store and get a decently big package of candy for maybe $3.00. Three dollars for a bag of candy is not anything close to expensive. “Furthermore, their costumes are often offensive. Dressing up like zombies and creatures! They scare people out of their wits!” (Daily Times). Actually, they don’t. I was one trick-or-treating once, back when I was 4, and of all the costumes I saw, none of them scared me or anything of the sorts. I also couldn’t see how costumes could scare older kids than that either. Now, I get that costumes are expensive, but it’s not to hard to make a homemade costume. Anyway, that is why I believe that Halloween isn’t dangerous, and shouldn’t be outlawed or banned.

Halloween should not be outlawed. Halloween is a holiday that is safe but there are some people that treat it the wrong way, but if u are safe then you can have a very good day well night. Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Halloween could be very safe if you take the right precautions. For example, you can wear bright colors so it’s easier for cars to see you. You can also make sure that all candy given to you is wrapped by the company and not handed wrapped. Halloween also has a very big part in our society. Back in the 1800’s it was to scare away the monsters that came on the 31 of October. Ever since it was celebrated as a holiday. So I think that Halloween is not dangerous and should be kept.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. When I was younger I remember getting excited when October started for Halloween. Getting rid of it is ridiculous but we do need to take some precautions. “Kids are getting their candy from strangers,” (The Daily Times) this problem can be resolved by parents checking the candy and making sure you trust those neighbors. Every negative thing that people are saying can be resolved with a positive thing such as “Kids don’t watch out for cars,” if that is the case stay by your child the whole night and cover them in reflective gear. Halloween is a fun night that has been going on forever do we really want to get rid of it?

Children could be hit my cars or run in front of a car and get hit. “Kids are out there getting candy from strangers”! Halloween is dangerous but should not be outlawed. I think that it’s dangerous because it’s all dark and many people are so excited and are running around in the dark. Also you could get lost if you’re not careful and leave the neighborhood that you are supposed to be in. This wonderful holiday shouldn’t be outlawed because it brings joy and gives people a chance to have fun with their friends all night and enjoy a few pieces of candy every now and then. Another reason that Halloween shouldn’t be outlawed is that it’s fun to dress up for school or at parties. Halloween should definitely stay a holiday even though it can be dangerous at some time.

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. Having kids and teenagers out on Halloween can cause lots of vandalism, bullying and there are costumes that could be dangerous. Candy can be very expensive and so can costumes, the sales are just benefitting costume and candy companies. Also a lot of kids don’t even know how Halloween originated! Those are just a few reasons why Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed!

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. If kids could follow the safety regulations then it would be safer. Parents usually go out with kids so there safe. Some people do want to buy candy and be that cool person who gives off the candy to kids. Although some candy is expensive just buy a smaller version like fun size so it doesn’t cost as much. Kids wouldn’t get cavities if they WOULD BRUSH THERE TEETH. Kids of all ages should be able to trick or treat.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Many people believe that Halloween should be outlawed. People believe this because they think kids just run around in the road. Most kids stay with their parents on the grass or the side of the road. People also think that Halloween is expensive. If they think Halloween is expensive then they should buy cheaper smaller candy and make their own costumes. If the kids go out and go trick or treating that is their decision. If they get cavities and get obese that is their decision.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Most people don’t know about Halloween so they think it should be banned, but I think it should stay because kids do not get to go out a lot. Most kids are on their handheld devices and do not get out a lot so Halloween is a perfect for kids to do. Kids in ages 2-15 do not get to dress up, and some kids love to dress up and get out. Halloween should not be out lawed.

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. Halloween has been around for many years and is a holiday with a gloomy, cruel past. In the past, Halloween was a day where bad spirits were eliminated from the area, by killings in cruel ways. The past of Halloween could bring back haunting memories for people whose ancestors were affected by these accusations and they will forever be affected.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Most people don’t believe in Halloween and think it should be banned. Halloween, in my opinion, should not be band because it has been a holiday for hundreds of years. It also has lots of games and traditions from over two hundred years ago. Most people think that it should be banned because it can cause cavities and obesity, but this is where parents come in. Parents should be responsible enough to tell their kids not to eat as much candy. Halloween is one of the few holidays in a year that kids get to eat a ton of candy. It also allows kids to get together with friends and do a bunch of games like bobbing for apples or exchanging candy. This is why I think Halloween should not be banned.

I think that Halloween should not be cancelled. It is okay that some people don’t celebrate Halloween, the problem is that the government is trying to make Halloween illegal. I think that it is a problem that you have to buy a lot of candy, which makes every single kid that eats it super hyper, but that doesn’t mean it has to stop. People could just cut down on the candy that they give kids. If someone is driving, there isn’t just a kid that comes and sits on the middle of the road. And people don’t drive places where about a hundred kids are roaming the street like a candy apocalypse is happening. That is why I think that Halloween should not be cancelled.

Halloween is very dangerous and it should be outlawed because kids are running in roads and could be hit by a cars. “Kids are out there getting candy from strangers,” says (New York legislator.) Also people with religious beliefs are as the New York legislator puts it “Furthermore, their costumes are often offensive. Dressing up like zombies and creatures! They scare people out of their wits!” Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed for the good of the community.

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. Halloween makes very unsafe environments for kids. “Kids don’t watch out for cars, they dart out in front of cars and run a high risk of getting hit,” (The Daily Times). Also, “candy is very expensive. No one wants to buy it and give it out,” (The Daily Times). This makes Halloween very irritating for the parents. Lastly, “kids are out getting candy from strangers, (The Daily Times). Before they even get the candy, it could already have been interfered with in bad ways. In conclusion, Halloween should be banned because there are too many dangerous and bothersome things that people have to go through on this holiday.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Halloween is a traditional holiday that lets kids of all age to go out in a costume and go up to houses and get candy. Safety can sometimes be an issue on events like this, so to be safer when the kids get the candy they could have their parents inspect the candy first. New York legislator says that “kids are getting candy from strangers. Another thing is that there is a lot of Halloween stores like party city and spirit so if there was no Halloween then they would have to close down and many people would have no jobs. Halloween is just a couple hours long and it is a time for kids to go out and have a lot of fun and I don’t think that they should ban it.

Halloween should not be outlawed because it is a holiday. It is a fun and scary experience to get away from the school work and stress. Before the holiday, people spend money on candy. This gives the candy factory tons of money to keep them going. Kids have a good time trick or treating in their neighborhood.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. It is not a dangerous holiday if you are smart and stay safe while trick or treating. You can stay safe by always being with a parent and going to familiar towns or streets where you know the people. Also going in large groups can help you say safe as they always say “there is safety in numbers.” Halloween should not be outlawed because it is a time when people can have fun and get away from every day stress. Plus who doesn’t have fun getting into costumes and portraying favorite characters! That is why Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed.

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. On Halloween many kids are running around the streets. There is a very high risk of people getting hit by a car. Also since there are so many young kids they could get lost or even kidnapped. They are asking strangers for candy and some could get very mad. Candy is expensive and some people don’t want to just give it away. Since there are many kids around there is a lot of vandalism and then the homeowners have to clean it up. The only people who benefit from Halloween are the candy companies and the costume companies. Lastly Halloween promotes obesity, eating candy, and vandalism all of which we were taught are bad things. Many people are joining the “ban Halloween” bandwagon and they are make a strong case.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. A reason that Halloween should not be banned because some kids have been trick or treating for many years and they have not been hurt. Also some kids just want to go outside and show of their cool customs they made or bought. Also it is a holiday that many people like celebrating. The article says that “kids have enough video games and electronics” but lots of people don’t. Those are some reasons why Halloween should not be banned.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed, it’s a fun, and enjoyable holiday for people all over the globe. Kids of all ages love to go trick-or-treating, what’s not fun about getting free candy? As long as it’s been checked at home and your parents say it is ok. Halloween has been around for more than 100 years. To just go and toss this tradition in the trash is like burning your family photos. Some people’s family history may have involved their great grandparent’s meeting. Halloween is celebrated all over the world and to outlaw it in the U.S might bring some anger to families from the western part of the world. Halloween was mostly celebrated in England and Ireland, outlawing it is like outlawing Christmas for christen people. Halloween can be fun for adults and children, as long as you are safe. Look both ways before you cross the street, wear reflective tape, and check your candy before you eat it.

I think Halloween should not be banned. If kids were accompanied by adults and went to houses they know, for example their neighbors, there would be no reasons to ban it. Kids would not receive as much candy so people would not have to spend as much and obesity would not be a problem. People who choose not to participate in this holiday can turn off their outdoor lighting to send a signal to trick-or-treaters not to come. Halloween has been going on for over 100 years and should not be banned.

I think that Halloween is a good holiday. The New York legislator says that kids are candy from strangers yes this is true but if you are with your parent nothing will happen because you are with the safety of your parents. He also said that kids are careless and run in front of cars I have personally seen kids run in the road but they do not run in front of cars because on Halloween there are no cars out and about. He also said that the holiday is annoying this point that he made I could understand. Say you don’t want kids knocking in your door yeah well then you could put a bowl out with a sign that says PLEASE TAKE ONE. Also another reason you can’t take away Halloween is because candy company’s get a lot of money during Halloween they have the best candy sales. In conclusion we should not get rid of Halloween.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. This is because that Halloween is a tradition that has been around for a very long time. Someone could dress appropriately in the dark, someone can look both ways, and dressing up like a zombie or a ghost is part of the tradition. Once the kids comes home, parents can inspected the candy for anything dangerous. Decorating the yard is also very fun for the custom. Halloween is meant to be spooky and scary. Halloween has always been a custom the kids and adults have enjoyed. Why take it away now?

Halloween is a time when kids go out with there parents, looking forward to all the treats their going to collect, it’s a time for festivals, apple bobbing and candied apples. Whenever I think of Halloween that’s what I think of, but there’s also a deeper meaning to Halloween, one that involves culture and ancient traditions. That is why I think we should keep Halloween because if the government gets rid of Halloween all those traditions will be forgotten, do we really want that?

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. Many polls have shown that Halloween is popularly known as a “bad” holiday. It is extremely dangerous and scary for kids young and old. On Halloween, kids accept candy from people they have never met. Eating this candy puts kids at a high risk of eating something dangerous that people have put in the goodies. Also, the children walk in the streets and often do not pay attention to threats of incoming cars. Also, teens who participate in Halloween may unintentionally or purposefully dress in costumes that will scare younger kids. Halloween is also promoting unhealthy eating habits for kids that may end in cavities, obesity and bad nutrition. As you can see, Halloween is very bad and should be outlawed.

mackenzieji1j1 said...

Halloween should be outlawed. Halloween is one of the most dangerous holidays, parents and guardians let their small children roam the streets stopping at peoples doorways and gathering candy. This could be very bad because people could just put put very harmful things in the candy. One last this is that teens and older children like to scare the younger children and make them cry. Halloween should be banned.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Evan though the New York legislator said “Kids are out getting candy from strangers!” Now we have technology to see if the strangers are dangerous. He also said that “Kids don’t watch out for cars.” Kids should be watched a by an officer so they won’t run out. Cars should also go slower on Halloween with streets filled with kids. The New York legislator also said “Candy is too expensive…” There are many bargain stores out there that have candy for cheap.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed because kids should be able to dress up walk around and get free candy because it makes kids a whole lot happier. The principal of a school is banding Halloween due to religious beliefs. Also it says that they should be mindful of everyone people should not have the power to cancel Halloween.

I believe Halloween should not be banned because it is dangerous, it’s only dangerous if you make that way. If kids were not trusted to EVERYTHING by themselves then Halloween would be less of a concern. Candy is only part of the art of Halloween, and is not necessarily a necessity for celebrating Halloween. You could always limit your trick-or-treating to neighbors and friends then the possible danger of poisoned candy will be limited. Since little kids can get scared easily take them out while there is still light, and less people. These are easy ways to make Halloween safe, fun, and less of a threat.

Halloween should not be outlawed because it’s not that dangerous. I think this because so kids want to get candy and dress up for fun. Older people can go out with them and help them if parents think it’s too dangerous. Dressing up is also part of the tradition and even bobbing for apples is part of the tradition because they did it way back in the 1800s. Some people might even think that everyone gives out bad candy that leads to cavities and obesity but some people don’t! From personal experience I’ve gotten an apple and a bad of health vegetables.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed! Many people are saying that Halloween is unsafe and that no one truly knows the original tradition of Halloween. According to the N.Y. Times, “Hallows even or Halloween is a relic of Pagan times.” As you can see some people do know about the age of Halloween and all the traditions that happen. Do not get me wrong I understand how Halloween is unsafe, but if you follow some simple safety rules, like have your parents check the candy before you eat it. Also, wear the costumes that don’t have lights on your face so there are no injuries. Most kids are trying to have fun, not trying to be racist about what costumes they were, they are just trying to have fun. Lastly, canceling Halloween will bring down many kids spirits. To them Halloween is the world. So, think about that next time you vote to cancel Halloween.

I think Halloween should not be banned. There wouldn’t be a reason to ban Halloween if everyone was safe. This means that their parents should check Halloween candy before the kids eat it, to see if anything bad is in the candy. They could make their costumes out non-flammable materials, so they’ll be safer around open flames, or hot objects. Kids could put reflective clothing on so that cars can see them better. If they were accompanied by a parent, then kids won’t vandalize things or bully each other. They don’t have to wear masks or face paint, and some people like to have the wits scared out of themselves. People could drive slower in neighborhoods where there are a lot of kids. Kids could look both ways before they cross the street. If all of us followed these rules, then everyone would be safe, and there would be no reason to ban Halloween.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. It is a fun tradition that has been going on for hundreds of years. Kids may be getting candy from strangers but as long as either parents check the candy before the kids eat it or the kids themselfs check the candy before they eat it, it is safe. The parents should tell the kids to watch out for cars (that is If they are old enough to go by themselves) or hold there kids hands while crossing the street. If the masks cover your eyes, making it so you can't see, you could either make the eye holes bigger by cutting them or get a new mask. I support Halloween because if you follow those steps, everyone could have a safe and fun Halloween

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. If children are occupied by an adult then there is less chance of getting hit by a car. Children could wait to eat the candy till they get home so someone could check it or they could have an adult check it when they get it. Some people enjoy buying the candy for the children because they enjoy this tradition. Children don’t always dress in scary costumes they dress in funny, weird, crazy costumes but some people don’t mind to get scared by the costumes because its Halloween its supposed to be a scary frightening tradition. Some kids may not have electronics to keep them company so Halloween is the only way they are able to have a blast of fun outside. Some people costumes may be offensive to other people but they are trying to be creative and they don’t realize they are offending other people in their surroundings. Halloween should not be banned because it is a tradition for lots of people.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Halloween is supposed to be a fun holiday. By trying to outlaw it, it is ruining the fun. Halloween will not just be banned and go away. Kids will just rename it and continue trick or treating. If you think it is dangerous, have your kid take safety precautions. Have your kid wear fire resistant material or a bright costume. You can even go with them. I think Halloween should not be outlawed.

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. One reason why Halloween should be outlawed is because so many children are exited to get candy that sometimes they don’t look before they cross roads. Also, people can poison candy and could harm children. In addition, most candy is very expensive and some people don’t have a lot of money to buy candy and just give it away. Lastly, some costumes are offensive and obesity is high chances because of all the candy kids are received.

I believe that Halloween is NOT dangerous and shouldn’t be outlawed. Halloween is only dangerous if you don’t be safe and don’t follow the safety rules and guide lines. As long as you don’t wear blinding mask, make sure you check ALL candy, and watch where you are going, there is no reason to ban Halloween. Also kids at a young age should be supervised by an adult. Finally, everyone should dress appropriately for their age.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be outlawed. Halloween is a fun tradition that kids get to be free for one night. The New York Legislator in the article is saying that the costumes that these kids wear are offensive. But really there just costumes that the kids like and play around in. If the New York Legislator doesn’t like Halloween then what about all the Halloween stores such as spirit and party city. Would they just close down and not sell anymore Halloween stuff and make no money or even run out of business! Halloween is one night of the year that kids get to be free and express themselves and hang out with their fiends not sit home. Also if people don’t like it’s only a couples hours long, they would just have to deal with it. Also the New York Legislator was saying that kids could get run over but mainly the prime age of 5 to 11 year olds are with an adult. That is why they shouldn’t band Halloween.

JoeRA1B1 said...

Halloween is dangerous and should be outlawed. Halloween can be dangerous because kids are running around in the dark so they could be hit by a car. Or there candy could’ve been tampered with b the person who gave the candy to you. Also if a school wanted to they could ban Halloween completely because the United States supreme court say that you don’t need to endorsee Halloween or further any religious beliefs. Some of the costumes can be predigest and offensive or just too scary to younger and older people. That’s why I think Halloween is a dangerous and should be banned.

Halloween is not dangerous and should not be banned. “Votes are in and it has been decided that Halloween is more ‘bad’ than good, so the pendulum is swinging toward the direction of adopting a new law banning trick-or-treating, and possibly decorating one’s yard, and/or even dressing up in a costume for an innocent parade,”(The Daily Times). If somebody does not agree with Halloween and does not want to celebrate it that is fine, nobody is making them celebrate it. If they wish to, they can be sure there child does not participate in Halloween but that does not give them the right to ban Halloween for everyone. For some families Halloween is a tradition and is very important to them and by banning Halloween they would be taking this away. Halloween has a lot of history behind it and is it was banned nobody would know about the valuable history of our ancestors. If it is banned, 30 years from now, children will not know of this holiday their parents participated in. Halloween is important to many families and shouldn't be taken away.
